At an event held at the posh Jolly Alon hotel in Kishinev, some thirty Righteous Gentiles were honored for their courage and heroism. Attending the event were Moldova’s Acting President, Marian Lupu, and the country’s Chief Rabbi, Zalman Abelsky.

Also in attendance were, Israel’s Ambassador to Moldova, Mr. Oren David; First secretary of the Israeli Consulate in Moldova, Mr. Stav Nizhinsky; Chairperson of the Association of Israeli Businessmen in Moldova, Mr. Anatoly Leibovich; the director of the Joint in Moldova, Mr. Micky Katzif; as well as a plethora of international diplomats including from the United States, Russia, England and Turkey.

Some 78 Righteous Gentiles call Moldova home.
